Gift occasions calendar

A gift is rarely a surprise for the giver: occasions repeat every year. We put them in one calendar so you don’t remember a holiday the day before — and your wishlist is ready in advance.
Fixed-date holidays
- January 1 — New Year
- February 14 — Valentine’s Day
- March 8 — International Women’s Day
- December 6 — St Nicholas Day (a big gift day for kids in Ukraine)
- December 25 — Christmas
Holidays that move
- Easter — a different Sunday every year.
- Mother’s Day and Father’s Day — dates differ by country; in Ukraine, the second Sunday of May and the third Sunday of June.
What’s not in the calendar
Birthdays, housewarmings, graduations, friends’ weddings, christenings. You have to remember those yourself. It helps when a List is already ready for the day: then “what should I get you?” takes a second to answer.
Small occasions
A first paycheck, a finished project, a passed exam, just a hard week. Something inexpensive you’ve wanted for a while works perfectly here.
When to start your wishlist
- Birthday — 3–4 weeks before
- Christmas and New Year — by mid-November
- Valentine’s Day, March 8 — early February
- Wedding — right after setting the date
- New baby — in the second trimester
For the winter holidays there’s a separate guide: “Holiday wishlist”.
